The former "Grey's Anatomy" actress-turned-screen actor to produce and star Craig Wright's adaptation of "Knitting Circle," HBO Films has confirmed on Friday.
Based on the bestseller Ann Hood "Knitting Circle" wheel with a married woman (Heigl) is struggling to overcome the death of his young daughter, who finds comfort in knitting circle.
Heigl will produce telepic with her mother and producing partner Nancy Heigl, through their banner Abishag with Pine Street Pictures.
Recent productions include the "Life As We Know It," which she starred in and executive produced. It will soon be in all of New Line "New Year's Eve," because of 9 December.
Wright ("United States of Tara") premiered on HBO as a story editor, writer and producer of HBO's "Six Feet Under," for which she received an Emmy nomination in writing. Also part of the editorial staff of the ABC drama series best film "Lost."
